The short book
A logic puzzle book you print or solve on screen: a register of 9,540 births across 8 parishes, 16 memoranda from the solicitors, and exactly one person who answers to all of them. About four hours.
Your copy is a puzzle nobody else has. It is taken out of stock for you and never sold again.

Every copy is its own puzzle
Most puzzle books print the same puzzles for everyone, and the answers end up online. Each Find the Heir book has its own register, its own memoranda and its own heir. When you buy, one is taken out of stock and put in your account for good, and it is never sold to anyone else, even if you ask for a refund. Its solution exists nowhere except in the work you do, so the puzzle stays a puzzle for exactly as long as it takes you.
Paper, screen, or both
You get the PDF to print and mark with a pen, and unlimited solving in a browser here, where a strike is a click and your work is saved as you go. Same book, same register numbers, so you can start at the kitchen table and pick it up on a screen exactly where you left off.
You will know when you have finished
The book ends with a verification page: run your candidate's register number through a short piece of arithmetic and check it against the printed table. On screen the site does it for you the moment one entry is left standing. Either way you get certainty without being handed the answer, which is the point. There is no solution page anywhere in the book and this site will not tell you either, so nothing can spoil the evening you paid for.
The other size
The long book: 48,024 entries across 174 register pages, 12 memoranda, and a much longer sitting. Same puzzle and same rules, a different amount of it.
